The proof that you are the official legal owner of a registered real estate in Turkey, it’s called (tapu) in Turkish. This document regulates a particular property, verifies the property ownership of the person mentioned in the document, provides information about the property and the location of the property. This document is regulated by the Directorate of Land Registry. Of course, this document is internationally recognized.
The property deed shall be only given to the legal owner of the property. If the property is owned by more than one person, one bond is given showing the share of each person in the property, and each may be given a special bond, but refer to the share of the owner of the bond in the property.
The only capable institution in Turkey to issue “The Tapu” is the Office of Tapu and Cadastre. In this government organization, the whole administration of all real estate in Turkey is tracked and monitored.
For Foreign Buyers
When foreigners are going to buy any property for sale in Turkey, it was required to get permission from the military units. If any property on the same section or building received the military approval, the permission for the remaining apartments is not required according to the law accepted on the 8th October 2013 in Turkey. But they had to get military permission for properties on the unapproved section.
